Emergency Recovery Systems from Zenair...

  Zenair offers two types of BRS installation kits* for the Zodiac CH 601XL and CH 650B.
  • 1) LSA System for a gross weight of 1,320 lbs. Cost of the kit is US$650.00
  • 2) ULM System for a gross weight of 450 kg. Cost of the kit is US$690.00
  A BRS system has also been developed for the STOL CH 701:
  • 3) STOL System for CH 701 at a Gross of 450 kg.  Parts & instructions from BRS.
  Installation manuals are available from Zenair or BRS.  See the Zenair download area.

                     *Note: Installation kits do not include canopy, harnesses or rocket (sold separately)

1) Zodiac CH 601 XL & CH 650 BRS installation kit for USA

System is designed for aircraft with heavier engines (i.e. Jabiru, Continental, etc...). BRS pack is installed in the baggage area with this installation kit - for the LSA-type aircraft operated at a gross weight of 1,320 lbs. The BRS parachute system (canopy and rocket) can be purchased separately from Aircraft Spruce or other suppliers. Supplied installation kit is for the BRS-6 type 1350 softpack LSA. 

Installation kit includes the rear fuselage mounting brackets, fiberglass fairings left and right sides rear and front, etc. Following photos shows the typical fairings covering the parachute straps.

2) Zodiac 601 XL & 650 BRS installation kit for European Ultralights

System is designed for aircraft with lighter engines (i.e. Rotax 912 or similar). BRS pack is installed between instrument panel and firewall area with this installation kit - for the ULM-type aircraft operated at a gross weight of 450 kg (typical European ULM aircraft).  The BRS parachute system (canopy and rocket) can be purchased from Aircraft Spruce or other suppliers.

Supplied installation kit is for the BRS-6 type 1050 softpack HD.
Installation kit includes fuselage mounting brackets, fiberglass fairings, etc.

3) STOL CH 701 BRS installation
This BRS installation is for the aircraft operated at a gross weight of 472kg. The BRS parachute system (canopy, rocket, harness as well as mounting hardware) can be purchased from BRS, Aircraft Spruce or other suppliers.  BRS pack is installed in baggage area.
